Originele Ferrari 400i automatic brochure - 175/79 - 1979
The carburettors of the Ferrari 400 were replaced in 1979 with a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Initially, the differences between the 400 and 400 i were limited to the fuel injection engine and an "i" badge on the rear.
Towards the end of 1982, the 400i was updated. New camshaft profiles and exhaust headers increased engine output to 315 hp (232 kW). The interior was significantly revised, with different upholstery, door panels, center console and new electronic switchgear. On the outside, a narrower grille exposed the rectangular fog lamps; the hood vent was changed from silver to body color. New, more elegant wing mirrors were fitted, with a small Ferrari shield. Around the rear, the rear panel was painted in body color instead of matt black, and fog lamps were mounted in the bumper. Lower profile Michelin TRX tires were used, on metric wheels. A total of 1305 units were produced, 883 of which were automatic.
This brochure dates from the early days of the Ferrari 400i. In 1979 this brochure was published by Autodiffusion S.A. from Geneva, Switzerland, handed over to a potential customer of the brand. This brochure came from Switzerland in the collection of a German Ferrari enthusiast, where the brochure remained for more than 30 years. After that I was able to add the brochure to my own collection.
